I'm really really looking forward to Pechalat/Bourzat, K/N, Kerrs, C/J and of course, D/W & V/M. So far, I've only seen P/B and C/J's programs (from the couples I listed above) and I really like them. I'm also really excited about Savchenko & Szolkowy this season. Yes the men's event is so exciting, especially with Johnny,Stephane and Evan! I have the same feeling with you about P/B's new OD,I think they don't really get into the flamenco. But again, they usually shine on FD,I hope they can get it better as the season goes forward. What I love about them is that they're trying to be original. Not use the same music as everyone else. I really liked Four Seasons last year and Organ donor is different that it, but it still works. I'm really excited about seeing it progress through the season. As for flamenco, I have been utterly spoiled by Marina and Gwendal when it comes to that dance, so no one has been able to give me that emotion (as M/G did) yet. IDK, I wasn't so pleased with their FD. But it's still early, so that might change. I love their OD though.

For K/N,D/W and V/M,their new programs have also come into scene. But we can't see them clearly yet. For this season's OD,the requirement by ISU is choosing "Ethnic Style Dance". So we'll gonna see so many Russian traditional dances in this season. Virtue/Moir choose "Dark Eyes",Davis/White choose "Kalinka",even the Chinese dancing couple Huang/Zheng choose "Kalinka"...I have a feeling that there'll be too many "Dark Eyes"s and too many "Kalinka"s as the season begins, and very few of them are really from Russia, sigh. And when I heard about Pechalat/Bourzat's choice of OD,I was very happy. But when I know they went to Antonio,I got a feeling there might be some "similar points" between their new dance and M&G's legendary OD. Finally when I got to see the video,I was kind of disappointed. I think Nathalie is a very talent dancer, but sorry, she seems not handling the flamenco well. When I saw those outfits, when I heard that "Drum Rhythm",I just couldn't miss M&G more. Sadly, P/B's performance didn't even come close to M&G's. But I still love P/B as one of my favourite dance couples nowadays after all.

Davis/White's new FD selects some pieces of Beatles, like "Eleanor Rigby" and "Eleanor's Dream". They skated their new FD at the "Evening for Iveta" show back in September, and this is a link for the video on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rmrvQH55QEThe video only included the first half of the dance, but I like it. For Virtue/Moir,as I said before, they choose "Dark Eyes" for their original dance and "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" for FD. Personally, I think "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" is an over-used piece of music in figure skating,so many skaters skated to it. And in style and mood, it hasn't much change from their last season's FD music "Valse Triste". Anyway,it suits them well,so it's ok. I don't know K/N's choice of music yet, but here is a video link that includes some clips of their new program,as well as Domnina/Shabalin's new program. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz9P-lKRk9AIt is said that in the new program, Khorkhlova represents a sorcerer and Novitski represents a devil. (Oh well,I'm thinking of "Carmina Burana" again... And about Domnina/Shabalin's new program, they skate to "Masquerade Waltz",another old piece of music right? But they seem to put a story into it. And the program is choreographed by Tarasova.

I think this year's TEB will be very exciting for ice dance. With Del/Sch, Carron/Jost, Davis/White, K/N, Cappellini/Lanotte,I think it will be a very interesting competition! I guess the results are like, Del/Sch the champion(no doubt), D/W & K/N fight for 2nd, C/L & C/J fight for 4th.

Just as I predicted before, too many ice dancers are skating Russian folk dance for OD in this season. When I went through some JGP dance comps online by "icenetwork", I met again some "Kalinka","Two Guitars", and the dancers who skated to them were actually from US and Canada, or other countries. Very funny dances though.
BTW, the compulsory dance competition of Skate America has just finished, and Pechalat/Bourzat had a good score to place them 2nd, just less than 2 points behind Belbin/Agosto, and way above the other teams! So very good start for them! Hope they do well in the following sections.
