The report is from Alexandra, a Polish girl from Drobiazko&Vanagas forum. Enjoy!
"Wroclaw Show, nov 30
I was visiting the show with my sister and we arrived at the rink about two hours before the show. The place was really empty then so we went to get our tickets (booked by phone much earlier) and then we found a bench somewhere inside the building. I don't know how it happened but somehow we were in a place where the audience was not allowed to be Anyway, we could hear the skaters rehersal on the rink and it was a totally wonderful feeling!!! Although we didn't see them, we heard Rita and Povilas discussing something with the cast. It was really amazing to hear their voices, which I recognized without problems Unfortunately after about half an hour came those security guys and told us to leave. We did but were even more excited about all this after hearing them.
When the show finally started, it was a shock for me - a real shock - to see all of them with my own eyes. It was the first time ever for me to see skating live and in addition there were Rita and Povilas!!! Gosh what a wonderful feeling it is to see them performing after watching their dances on TV for so many years. I couldn't believe it's real. But it was really them and not only. I was also very happy to see Dorota & Mariusz as well as Alexei - such a great star of figure skating!!! The opening was very beautiful, the skaters were a kind of puppets and there was the guy talking that they were all under his control. And then came Valerie saying that it is not truth and the guy is only a phantom with no power. After that they bagan to skate showing him that Valerie was right. It was really well-prepared and I loved it.
Then came the performances. I can't now exactly say who was performing first and who after that cause there were too many emotions in my heart and it was diffcult to memorise it all. If I am not wrong, first came Stanick Jeannette, then Rory Burghart and Akop Manoukian & Armen Saakian. Laurent Tobel was appearing on ice from time to time, making people laugh. And yes, there were also Elena Leonova & Andrey Khvalko, I liked their programme very much. And then - gosh after waiting for the moment for my whole life - Margarita and Povilas came onto the ice with their 'Hey you'. My heart was at that moment out of my control. Gosh, I can't express how wonderful I felt having them, skating so beautifully, so close to me, just on reach... When they ended the dance I went totally crazy. It was amazing to see them bowing just in front of my eyes, smiling so beautifully. And those emotions on ice, wow it's something that you can't express with words.
Ater Rita and Povilas's dance, Polish audience went crazy - there were Dorota and Mariusz on ice. I really loved their performance - if I'm not wrong there weren't any jumps in it but those amazing lifts skated to Polish music, it was brilliant And the dessert of the first part was Alexei's Winter. Gosh, seeing it live is so exicitng!!! Those step-sequences... I have no words...
The second part started with Valerie singing a beautiful Russian song. She has a wonderful voice indeed. The only person performing only in the second part was Irina Gregorian. The audience liked her performance with hoops very much. At the end she took some fire on one of the hoops and it looked great - a connection of ice and fire. From the second part, I liked Akop and Armen very much and the performances of Elena & Andrei and Dorota & Mariusz made a huge impression on me. The Poles performed to 'Time to say goodbye' And of course our sunshines, Margarita and Povilas. The skated 'Pirates'. After seeing it so many times on TV or computer I could finally see it with my own eyes. It is amazing to see them really fighting with the swords And the second part of the dance is so much full of emotions!!! It was beautiful, I can't express it in other way. When they were asked to come once again they did something amazing - put some fire on the swords!!! and skated the very last part of the dance with them. It was outstadning and the audience loved it!!! I must say that Yagudin's second programme was not as great as I expected. But still I was crazy to have seen the 'Winter'.
When the skaters came to bid good-bye we stood up and gave them a standing ovation. They really deserved it. I was dissappointed with the audience - we were ones of only few who also stoop up. I went crazy when they skated to us all together to bow for my tribune. I stood face to face with Rita - gosh how beautiful she is!!! It was an amazing feeling. And the audience went really crazy when Povilas started speaking Polish!!! And what a warm voice he has!! He said that they are planning to organise a show in Poland also next year!!!! My heart just jumped!!! And Rita was only standing next to him smiling brightly, cause well, she didn't understand a word
After the show, excited more than one can imagine - we went to wait for the skaters next to their bus. And there they came- first Dorota and Mariusz - wow they are really very nice people and I think that she was also a bit shy My sister gave her a small present- a teddy bear - which she was later holding on her knees when they were leaving - soo sweet of her!!! Then came the rest of the cast - first Rory and Valerie (she was so cute surprised when someone asked her for an autograph), then Elena, Adrei, Laurent and all of the rest. After some time appeared Yagudin and well, here I must say I was really disappointed with his behaviour - after giving some autographs he got really angry - I think that someone just pushed him or something - and went onto the bus, covered the window with a curtain and stayed there. Well, I didn't manage to take a picture with him, but still, I was first of all waiting for M&P. And then the wonderful moment came- Povilas appeared!!! All of the people gathered there in one moment run to him and wanted a picture or an autograph. I decided to wait, but got really worried when he said that they were all in a big hurry because of the trip to Chemnitz. I was afraid I won't make it to talk to them... then he walked back into the building and went out through another entrance!!! I noticed him and walked to him to introduce myself. Gosh, talking to Povilas Vanagas was a really strong experience for me... I told him my name and asked if he knew about me. And the most amazing thing for me was that he really did!!! He knew about me and gosh, it meant so much for me - HUGE THANKS FOR MARINA FOR THAT!!!!! I gave him a present and told how happy I was to see them. Then the whole crowd came and some women asked him, where his wife was. Povilas said only 'I don't know, I guess she left in another car'. Everyone told him not to be joking but he wasn't!!! He totally lost Margarita!!! He said he was going to look for her - and all of the people who were still there (cause well, after seeing what Alexei did, many of them went home much earlier) went with him!!! It looked really funny - Povilas going through the car park with some crazy women behind him!!! Then Rita was finally found - in a car, indeed!!! Povilas asked her to go out and of course she did, all the time with such a beautiful smile on her face. While she was giving autographs, Povilas was talking to us in Polish. He said once again that they plan to come here also next year. Rita was only standing, smiling, looking a bit shy - what a wonderful couple they are!!!! Then they asked us if we would agree to take a group photo - cause they were really in a big hurry and of course, we agreed. It was sweet of them to stay so long with us anyway. Then they went to the car and waved to us just like they waved to the audience on the podium in Lyon.
It was a beautiful and unforgetable night fo me. Later, when I was already at home I thought about it all and tears came to my eyes. I was strongly moved and I still am. I can't believe I really experienced it all!!!
Well, that's all I think. The report is really long, I hope you won't get bored reading it. I just wanted to share with you all my impressions, because it was a really strong experince for me and you are the only people who can understand what I mean. "
