Ok, so yesterday I was at the show, which is the tribute to Alexander Gorshkov (he recentely turned 60 . And Marina attended the show also
A few of my impressions for u
Irina Slutskaya did not appear, though she was announced in all the advertisements before the show. So it adds a bit to her pregnancy rumours, but ok, lets not discuss it here
Navka-Kostomarov did "Carmen". Berezhnaya-Siharulidze did that old and stupid number of theirs, where Chaplin turns into modern music segment. It annoys me, you know. And they've been skating it for ages
For you Siharulidze fans - he did another number with... Tomara Moskvina! My, an old woman is doing great! She did a high lift with him and even a death spiral And some other amazing elements
Chochlova-Novitskij did their old exhibition number to "You Better Stop" song. Not much impressive to me, though they are in good form.
Totmianina-Marinin did a number to popular modern Russian song of today (from some Russian soundtrack I believe) - and they were perfect. I do hope they will return to amateur skating still.
Drobjazko-Vanagas did their most fortunate FD - "Spente le Stelle". Beautiful, but he stumbled and fell at some point I would explain it with the bad quality of ice though.
Klimkin and Griazev showed their new SPs. Klimkin's looks promising, though it a bit raw yet - music is good, and he has only a small part of Vivali's Four Seasons. Griazev's has some strange music, and he is in bad form again
Also Sergei Dobrin did an exhibition to Fa-Na-Na - a nice one for his level.
Petrova-Tikhonov skated a jazzy number, played live on sax by Igor Butman. And after that, they did numbers from Stars on Ice show with their partners - Petrova-Butman and Bolshova-Tikhonov. They are great
Oh, yes, and Sokolova skated her exhibition number to a song from russian version of "Romeo and Juliette" musical.
The final skater was, of course, Plushenko, who did his "Tosca" again. He is a bit lazy, not doing very hard jumps. Though the footwork is fantastic.
