Here it goes
So, as for Stars on Ice - this time the theme was Hollywood movies.
First of all, Zaharova-Bazdyrev had to go. The viewers has supported Berezhnaya-Nosik in the sms-voting. I'm feeling very sorry about Zaharova, for I think the producers were very unfair to her, giving her a young skater, who is not so good himself, while others were skating with champions. Plus his behaviour was really unsporty, while she was doing her very best
( So, they skated their farewell number - to the "Don't Cry for me, Argentina" from "Evita" movie.
First to skate in the competition were Guseva-Kostomarov (they had a draw of skating order numbers in the beginning). A dance to the "From Dusk till Dawn" movie - to my mind, not very interesting. The marks were good, but not good enough as the day has shown.
Ah, by the way, this time the judges were a bit different - Tarasova and Piseev (president of Russian FS federation) have stayed, but we had Totmianina instead of Vodorezova, one TV-presenter and a famous russian actor Alexander Domogarov.
Kiseleva-Marinin did a number to "Mask of Zorro". Much of costumes - masks, capes - plus swords at the beginning of the number (hello to the pirates of Lithuaninan). The number was quite solid, they got the same marks as Guseva-Kostomarov (11.4).
Same result achieved Berezhnaya-Nosik - they did a very cute and funny number to "Some Like it Hot" with Lena being a guy, and Nosik a "woman"
A bit better result was gained by three pairs as well.
Boloshova-Tikhonov got 11.5 with a number to "Cell Block Tango" from "Chicago". Technically not that hard (for it was mostly his lifts then her skating), but another little play - him being a policeman and her - a female killer
Semenovich-Razbegaev – another nice to watch number – to the “Pink Panther”. They are progressing, he is making lifts already.
Navka-Basharov – not up to their usual standarts. Tarasova said it all – dirty skating. A pity, for they took the wonderful tango “Roxane” from “Moulin Rouge” – it fits Navka so well (as well as her brothel costume
, but unfortunately – lots of little flaws.
Petrova-Butman did kinda romantic number (sorry guys, I did not understand, from which movie) to some jazzy sounding song. Artistically they had better performances, but they do not only do death spiral and different kinds of lifts, this time Butman did some simple jumps and even a throw. So its nice to see their progress every time
They gained better marks then previous two (11.6) and started leading the results table, but not for long.
Another two pairs shared the same result. Firstly, Dapkunaite-Zhulin (to me, the most beautiful dance of the day) – skating to “Strangers in the Night”. Never thought this to be a song from the movie, but anyway – just beautiful. The two of them get along very well together – as Zhenja has mentioned – Zhulin has to be on his guard not to make Navka jealous already
Third pair gaining 11.6 was Lobacheva-Sutkin. To my mind, it was a bit of a favour to the producer’s wife. The dance was ok (“You Can Leave Your Hat On” from “9,5 weeks”), but technically not that strong to share it with the leaders.
Though one pair gained 12.0 – all 6.0 both for techincs and artistic impression. Yagudin and Pushkina. Pushkina has been giving Lesha a hard time indeed, being just a stupid middle age woman thinking she is a queen of the world or smth like this
Anyway, they were ready to kill each other at the trainings already. And when they did their “Once Upon a Time in America” number quite good (for their level), judges were generous. Too generous to my mind, especially since half of the program was Yagudin’s air acrobatics number (“Passion”, you must have seen this one). Anyway – when they skated together, they did it simple, but quite clean, and they won this round.
Glukoza did not skate at all – only Siharulidze did a solo number to Armstrong’s “It’s a Wonderful World”, while she was sitting at the edge of ice rink. At the end he took her on his hands. As far as I understood, they are to return to the show when she is recovered. Do not think it is fair though
And one thing annoyed me about Anton: he said in the profile: “I’ve watched our show on TV, nobody really can dance, only Glukoza and me are doing smth interestin”. Hated that attitude
Now the viewers are chosing between three pairs with the lowerst results – one will go, two will stay. It’s again Berezhnaya-Nosik, Kiseleva-Marinin and Guseva-Kostomarov. I personally prefer the last one to go, because I hardly can stand Kostomarov and Guseva is behaving like some superstar in both acting and figure skating, while she is simply not:(
Meanwhile, at the RTR, Dogileva-Urmanov left (mostly due to her health problems).
