not too sure where to post this thread, but if it's not appropriate in this subforum, then please move it to the most appropriate one. sometimes, i just feel that A&P's exhibition routines, particularly the upbeat ones, look and feel more dancey than their FDs. i actually wish they used a more pop style of music and rhythm in the 2002 OG. that FD looked the least "dancey" IMHO among their FDs. but of course, it was the olympics so they have to go with their strongest style. of course, with classical pieces, you can go more abstract with choreography, thus more difficulty could be added without having to be limited at the expression/artistry. i just feel that somehow that's where some criticisms come in about the FDs being too much of a pas de deaux and not done to the beat/rhythm of the music. then again, it's called free dance. i do have to say their strongest period FD wise was from 98-00 (the R&J, MITIM and CB stretch). BLN was okay, but after CB, somehow that FD felt a bit anticlimactic. and i really need someone to point out to me the "dance" merits of Liberta. of course the difficulty was there or it wouldnt have won the gold, but it just doesnt feel so dancey to me. i would appreciate technical feedback about this, but no flaming. no "i'm a bigger A&P fan than thou". i just felt that some discussion is needed, not just all gushing.
