Hi there! So, first day is over Those who want to know the results - go see ISU I will just give some impressions Johnny did a very good job today - nice clean skate. I still feel somewhat not very satisfied about this program, and Johnny seemed a bit nervous, seems he was aiming to do it right, so was keeping his artistry back a bit. But it was very good indeed, Joubert's win was only cause of quadruple, which I do hope Johnny will reach one day. Ah, yes, and Marina was there - in her furcoat, gazing at Johnny skating like a Sphynx, trying to hypnotise him Sandhu has one of the most funny costumes I've seen in my life - watch out for spirals on his buttocks - but he did a very nice program - as best as he can do. Unfortunately, as unclean, as he can do - with one huge fall. Did not like any of other men skaters much, including Russians. Among pairs I am a bit sorry that Petrova-Tikhonov came in second after Germans, but I just love what Ingo Steuer does with Savchenk-Szolkovy - I do not care about this Stasi business - he is a talented coach and choreagrapher and their program, though still unclean, was just great. So it was fair, for Petrova-Tikhonov seem to be skaters from other epoch. But newly arranged Russian pair gave me pleasant moments - its Kawaguchi-Smirnov - a girl is Japan as you can tell, and she has just got Russian citizenship to compete for Russia. I suggest you watch them, hope you'll like them like I did As for women - it's not that I was too interested in that kind of skating, but still - my most preferred moments was Arina Martynova's Otonal program - I do hope she can make it for Russia, for Sokolova, although she skated clean, is no hope at all. Other skated I would not is Aki Sakawada - we did not expect anything from her, but she did a very nice performance, but unfortunately with huge mistake at the end - such a pity, for she was nice! Sarah Meier was nice too, but not at her best still. Sebastian, who's won the short, was much better than in her previous year, but I never liked her much though. So, that's it for today! I've seen Elise, btw, so hope she adds up her impressions

for your report, Alena! I admit that first time i watched Johnny's program, I was more focused on the boards and if I'll notice Marina there, than him. Re: Kawaguchi- Smirnov - Russia + Japan? Woah. It's definitely interesting to see where this will go. Re: Sebastian - I bet Zee will be happy. Re:Elise - Hm....seems that I'll have to hunt her down.

Re:Elise - Hm....seems that I'll have to hunt her down. She has no internet access other than internet cafés and got home around 1 a.m. last night. She said that everyone was nervous when Johnny took the ice and that the russians really support him. The CD result was fair as far as the Russians being in first, Delobel didn't skate their best. They could have been second at best. Otherwise we didn't talk much more about skating rather than skating related things. She liked the German couple and the Russians. She just told me that Delobel messed up their morning practice, him falling once and the two of them once.

That was meant as a joke and nothing more. I do know that she has no Internet access and is therefore hard to find online. But I do miss her still. Thanks for the report, Hike and Elise. That's too bad about D/S.

I know it was meant as a joke but I wasn't sure if you expected a report nevertheless. I don't know if I'll be able to talkt to her tonight or rather if she'll be awake enough to talk to me but I'll post if I have any relevant information

No COR goer but I talked to Elise - Johnny, as I assumed, did a lot of doubles. He did the triple axel in the beginning but then decided to do a few doubles and singles. She said he might have done 3 triples. Brian was breathtaking, he did 3 quads - one more than last week!! Artistically he is of course not at Johnny's level but Johnny needs to get his jumps in a row. The ladies were nerve racking in a bad way since they didn't skate good at all. Sokolova did a lot of doubles, she didn't fall but... Shabalin fell during the OD midline step sequence, the Italians skated clean and good and everyone seemed to have liked them except the judges. Weird, last week they were 4th in front of Nathalie and Fabian with a clean OD this week they're only 8th... I'll never get this judging. That's all I have as far as skating is concerned. It was late and we had to discuss plane tickets

Yeah, I already heard the "bad" news. But for Johnny, he's 2nd! Joubert really seems to be on a roll, i'll have to watch his prog. OT: someone's going somewhere?
