Oh I forgot to add Khokhlova & Novitski on my favourite list. I like this young team very much, especially Jana Khokhlova. She has such an amazing personality on ice, sometimes reminding me of Marina. I like their "flamenco bolero" as well as the tango OD from last season.

dance: I can't decide myself, I'll always love Marina and Gwendal concerning the rest, I don't know...they have good technique, but something is missing. It's been 7 years since M&G retired and in my opinion non of other skaters brought/ bring that passion and grace to the ice that M&G used to. men: Stephane Lambiel he's a complete athelete, very talented, artistic, energic and sensitive. I'll never forget his Flamenco. I love all about him and his skating, he's the reason why I began to watch again Figure Skating after Marina and Gwendal retired. It's a pity he had to retire due to his injury women: I like Yuna Kim,great skater, but more Sarah Meier for her grace, she's like a balerina on ice. she's not on TOP, but I admire her ambition, specially this year at Worlds in Los Angeles where she participated after being off all the season due to an injury.

But you shouldn't be sorry at all !!! It's great that there's somebody who wants to communicate,...during the last days,it is so died here And I must say that I agree with you in everything ! I love Stephane and Sarah as well...and concerning dancers: there's lots of theams I like, but no one is close to MG and their competitive programs. But still, this season,I have to admit that I loved Davis/White very very much. I also liked very much the Carron/Jost team, they vere my french favourites,it's in my opinion such a shame they separated On the other hand,I always liked Capellini/Lanotte and as they are now being trained by Murielle,I can't wait to see them next season

yes, I think so too, that "it's died here" ... I believe it's because M&G are off ice for quite a while, you know with Marina's pregnancy and all. I'm verry happy for her, we have to understant that she and Gwendal have their private lives too, but I wish so much to see them on the ice again....with something new, a program to surprise the people, full of passion, grace, energy and artistry...like in the old times. that's how I remember them...and I confess I didn't like very much their program rock and roll for Les Etoiles de la Glace 2008, it's not for them. And my disappoiment was bigger when it was announced that they will not take part in Les Etoiles de la Glace 2009. I guess we have to wait to see what happens in the future, probably it's just a foolish dream also I was thinking these days that it would be nice to know more about Marina, the baby, Gwendal, their families, on TV I mean, right from them, not from all these journalists that sometimes distortion the information. As for me, I wish to see Gwendal with the baby in his arms, like a sweet uncle ;D (I have this image in my head for a long time ago)....an episode of their lives...THIS IS ANOTHER FOOLISH DREAM ;D I'm sorry I'm off topic here but I had to confess these things to someone . thanks ;D

Not foolish at all. I myself wondered if Gwendal had seen the baby yet. A few months ago, I asked him if he has seen the baby yet. The answer was "No". I'll put it back on the GQL.

I have to say that I agree with everything you've said, dissim and that I have very similar foolish dreams ! For me too, this year nonparticipation on Etoiles was disappointment, especially because I go often in March/April in France to see my friends and this year was the first one to be there not to see Etoiles (btw. You're French ?) And also,I know very well that they have their private lives and wish them all the best in everything they do. But even if this second Marina's pregnancy meant the end of M+G on the ice,I still think that this forum is well done and it would be damage to let it die... there's still lots of place to chat about another skaters as well as think back about Marina and Gwendal,........

no Sysi, I'm Romanian, but I plan to go to France at university in autumn (this year I'm finishing high school) I'm still waiting the answer from the university and I hope to be positive Well, concerning Marina and Gwendal, I know them since I was 9. I simply fell in love with them when I saw their program Romeo and Juliet. now I'm about 20 and still like them. Never, never saw them live (that's my biggest frustration) because I didn't got the chance; I was little and travelling to other countries wasn't easy because I would have to travel with my parents or someone who assume the responsability for me (but I think you know these things), and untill 2007 Romania wasn't part of the European Union -> this made it harder for me. And now, when I can go by myself and easier it is possible that they don't skate anymore. NOT FAIR! .....BUT the hope is the last one who dies, isn't it? and you're right, it would be a shame to let the forum die. Even if they don't skate, for me, talking about M&G will always be a pleasure

Absolutely agree. This morning thinking about how close they are the Games and that from 8 years ago lost the magic of the ice-dance. I've seen couples technically strong and seemingly impossible moves but none with the chemistry, energy, grace and especially MAGIC Gwendal and Marina. For me, much of that magic had to do with the musicality and the flexible movement of Gwendal, plus unmatched elegance. And as you said, there is internet, youtube, but especially our memory of its magnificent display of talent. Both deserve the best, and perhaps not lose hope back together to give us a beautiful surprise.

Yes,I agree with you. Firstly I still hope and dream about seeing M+G on the ice again. There is something special about them, they have the chemistry the other teams don't have. But in addition, they were so creative,so interesting,There were not the same lifts in the OD and FD,not the same movements and gestures, they always brought something great and new I've seen for example the dance competition on TEB as well as on the ISU competition in my hometown.Teams like Virtue/Moir,Pechalat/Bouzrat or the Kerrs were really great, but still,it was far less interesting for me than the pre-COP programs.I think one of the biggest problems of today's ice dancing is this new system. It has its advantages, but big disadvantages as well. When M+G were competing,I loved their step sequences, now,I can't stand them at all....it's all so similar. But there are still some teams I enjoyed a lot, like this years Hoffman/Zavozin's FD which WOWed me in Olomouc or the last seasson Samson and Dalilah of D/W
