I spent 3 great days in Paris, it was my first big competition and it was simply perfect The only thing I'm sad about is that when Marina and Gwendal were skating there,I was too young to go there But it was great to be there and every skater I spoke to was really very nice ! Here are my pictures http://s401.photobucket.com/albums/pp99/Sylva-pics/TEB%202009/ (to choose the cathegory, look on the left ) Enjoy

Guys, sorry for being out for so long, but itīs always a great pleasure to come back here again, and since I was in Paris at TEB too, I decided to add a little report about my stay in this beautiful city
I couldnīt manage to get to Paris for the short programs, because I couldnīt take a day off work, so I arrived to Paris only in the late evening (was happy not to get lost at Charles De Gaulle airport ). I was staying in a hostel about 15 minutes walk away from the Bercy stadium, so it was perfect. I was sharing a room with three nice girls from a Brian Joubert Discussion Group forum Iīm a member of. Actually, it was almost like a BJDG meeting, since I met and spent most of the time with other like 7 girls from that forum Anyway, on Saturday morning, we decided to do a little sightseeing before going for the first part of the Long Programs, so we walked to the Notre Dame de Paris Awwww, what memories.... I swear I was looking for Gwendal a.k.a. Quassimodo hanging somewhere from one of the towers looking for Marina a.k.a. Esmeralda The weather was nice, so we had a nice walk past the Seine, through the petites rues de Paris and then we were heading to the Bercy stadium to come in time to get me tickets for the free programs (I didnīt have any yet, only for the Gala). When we were approaching the stadium and I saw the huge building (which I love by the way, especially the way they incorporated the grass on it), I started to have the same wonderful butterflies as I had when I came for the Euros in 2008 to Zagreb (Nena, Rasha, Zee, remember my "Iīm so excited!!" ? ) and I ín that moment, I didnīt care about who wins or not, all I was thinking of was "OMG, Iīm here! " I wanted to get tickets for the first and second cathegory, but they had only tickets for the 1st cathegory left, so no saving of money happened but I was happy to get them anyway. Gosh, I donīt know if everyone feels the same when entering an ice rink for a competition or a Gala of this caliber, but when I came in, took the first "icy" breath, saw the manyyyyyy seats around this beautiful place, I was out of my senses. It may sound weird ,but if I had to choose between getting a million of Euros and getting an opportunity to be in the audience for a skating event, I would go for the second option without a wink! The old magic just came back .... First was the Menīs Free and itīs probably not hard to guess, who I was cheering for most (see above )...Yes, Brian was my main reason why I came to Paris, but I was enjoying all of the guys, besides Brian especially Alban, who rocked the house and is such a nice guy Even Nobunari Oda was great, although Iīm not such a big fan of him, but his Charlie Chaplin was cute, funny and nice to watch And Tomas was probably the best Iīve seen him skate in some time... I had a great place (even found myself in the official video from TEB ) so it was wonderful to watch all of them and having them so close! Besides (Nena, donīt be jealous ), I was sitting among the huge French fans bunch surrounded by the French flags everywhere so I felt like in 7th heaven In general, the Menīs competition was very enjoyable and I felt great after it ended (even Brian climbing up two places was nice for me )

During the break, I ate one of my homemade toast (still had two from the supplies for the flight last night ) and then I came back to my seat for the Pairs Free. What to say....I was really looking forward to see Aliona & Robyn again, but it was kind of strange. Not because of her making a mistake, but making so many...... Like she totally lost her focus after the first mistake and then it was all over the place... I really felt sorry for them, but itīs better to have such a nightmare skate in a "minor" competition than at the Olympics, so I think they wonīt have any such problems again, theyīre mature enough to learn from this I also felt sorry for Vaness & Yannick, because I LOVE their Romeo & Juliet LP and I was really looking forward to seeing it live, but it just wasnīt their day, I suppose, though it wasnīt that bad I never thought I would say it, but I LOVED Maria & Maxim! They were just beautiful and for the first time Iīve ever seen them skate, I could FEEL something while watching them... They always leave me with the impression "Great technically, but left me cold". This time, I was mesmerized, and if they keep on going like this, the battle for gold at the Olys should be very interesting
The first two medal ceremonies were nice, especially the Pairs one, where the medals were awarded by a paralympian (canīt remember the name ) OMG, I totally forgot to say at the beginning - I donīt know if itīs everywhere like this (probably it is), but before the competition started, they played the Marseillese ... I was like " Iīm gonna hear it!!!" it has always been my dream to hear it live and although it was only like this, but in my mind, I was imagining Marina & Gwendal and also Brian standing at the top of the podium ![[image]](http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h96/passiononice/smileys/lol.gif)
To be continued...

Ok, here we go with the next part of "Michelleīs Paris Diary"
During the break between the competitions, we went outside for a while, to catch some fresh air. The girls decided to eat something but I wanted to see the ladies Free, so I returned to the stadium and ate my other sandwich and got some delicious hot chocolate
For the next part of the Long Programmes, I was sitting in the part right next to the Kiss & Cry area, a little higher but still a great seat (and as it appeared later, more than great ). By the way, for the Menīs and Pairs Free , I was sitting opposite the judges, somewhere like 10th row from the ice, which was amazing! The Ladies Free was really exciting! I was looking forward especially to the battle between Yu-Na Kim and Mao Asada, at what a battle it was!! I dare to say, the girls almost outskated the guys in a very exciting competition I also enjoyed Caroline Zang and Yukari Nakano. The atmosphere was great, and when the Japanese girls were out, I couldnīt help but to laugh at all the Japanese flags around, I felt like Tomas Verner saying at the press conference "I felt like in the wrong country" ![[image]](http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h96/passiononice/smileys/lmao.gif) Before the Free Dance started, a few famous faces passed me by - starting with Stephane Bernadis and Sarah Abitbol (I was lucky enough to take a quick photo of at least Stephane ), Albena Denkova, Adam Rippon (who was sitting nearby and is by the way a very nice guy)... Martin Skotnicky was sitting behind me and for the ice dance he moved down so under me And Rasha, for the ice dance, Tomas Verner was sitting just like 10 seats away from me Poor guy, he seemed really tired, because during most of the dance event, he was yawning But it seemed he enjoyed the FDs of the Kerrs and P&B very much! The Free Dances were really interesting and enjoyable, but for me, the two who stood out were John & Sinead and Nathalie & Fabien. They were absolutely brilliant! Especially Nat&Fab were so original and had some really amazing elements included in their dance! The concept of TIME reminds me a little of Kati Winkler & Rene Lohseīs Time FD from 2000 (even Fabienīs upper part of the costume), but in general, it was very original and entertaining The Kerrs were lovely as always, although I couldnīt help it, I felt like their FD this season is just a dust-off of Ruled By Secrecy from last year...beautiful and emotional but still...
After the medal ceremonies, we went for some autographs/photo "hunting" to the skatersī hotel right next to the Bercy stadium. We were lucky, because there were many skaters to meet. As Iīve had the autographs and photos of/with most of them already, I just used the situation to complete some of my collection And so, (after a very polite asking, of course, Iīm not a freak like I saw many people there) I managed to take a photo with Alban Preaubert (very shy but sweet ), Nathalie Pechalat (so cute ), Tomas Verner (he was sooooo funny with that "Xmas" hat a Japanese fan gave him ) and John Kerr (the only skater who I already have 2 photos with, but he was not in a hurry and was very sweet when thanking after me saying their skate that night was just great ). I also managed to get an autograph from Kira Korpi and Brian Orser (heīs a funny guy really enjoying everything ). And I saw a glimpse of Brian in the lift just as we were leaving
The evening ended for us with lovely almost 2 hours sitting in front of the "skatersī" pub, as we called it. Why? Because much of the French skating team was there as well, including Alban Preaubert and yes, Olivier Schoenfelder Of course we were not stalking them, actually one of my friends (who we call "Alban-detector" because she ADORES him and spots him everywhere ) didnīt even spot Alban, although he walked out for answering his phone for a couple of times!! We had great fun and then we said quietly "Alban is here!" and she was like "What? Where?" and we started laughin like crazy and in that moment, Alban turned to us, at the same time when girls were taking a photo together but it must have seemed they were taking a photo of him because he turned round in the way like "Oh God, not THAT GIRL again ..." ![[image]](http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h96/passiononice/smileys/lmao.gif)
